I recently finished my BFA at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. I have been engaged in various mediums as well as methods of working, but have lately been working mostly with text, reading and sculpture. All circling around some kind of speculative fiction, placing themselves somewhere between the future and the past. Between reality and memory. Through fiction I have been working with notions of fear, transformation, otherness and agency. This interest in agency and otherness could also be described as an interest in relations between bodies, and is something I have been occupied with for a long time, often through collaborations dealing with ways of engaging collectively. Through my work with sculpture, ‘collectiveness’ has become something I understand as also including so-called ‘dead’ materials, like metal or clay or anything else I may engage with, thus informing my process and way of working in general. 

 

As before mentioned, I have previously worked in many collaborative constellations and have as well been engaged in a few artist collectives, amongst others Piscine (www.piscine.dk / @piscine_dk) which I founded in 2015 together with curator Michael Roloff. Piscine initially started as an exhibition space based in Aarhus, Denmark, engaging in a mix between artistic and curatorial practice. Later it developed into a nomadic collective, which is what it is today, working both artistically and curatorially. I left the group in 2017 as I moved to Copenhagen.

 

Most recently have I been part of opening a new exhibition space ARCWAY NIGHTLANDS CONNECTOR Jennifee-See Alternate (www.arcway.dk / @arcwaynightlandsconnector), in Copenhagen, Denmark. We opened the space just about a month ago in late May, so this is very new and exciting and does not contain so much of a story to tell yet, as our intention is to allow the space to develop organically and on it’s own. Giving it it’s own agency, one could say. Simultaneous with this, I have been part of restructuring and running a student run department (@forumcharlottenborg) at the Academy where I studied until recently. A sort of Academy within the Academy, one could call it. Something I am still engaged with and working on developing further.

Hace poco terminé mi BFA en la Real Academia Danesa de Bellas Artes. He participado en diversos medios y métodos de trabajo, pero últimamente he estado trabajando principalmente con texto, lectura y escultura. Todos dando vueltas alrededor de algún tipo de ficción especulativa, ubicándose en algún lugar entre el futuro y el pasado. Entre la realidad y la memoria. A través de la ficción he estado trabajando con nociones de miedo, transformación, alteridad y agencia. Este interés en la agencia y la otredad también podría describirse como un interés en las relaciones entre cuerpos, y es algo con lo que he estado ocupado durante mucho tiempo, a menudo a través de colaboraciones que tratan formas de participación colectiva. A través de mi trabajo con la escultura, la "colectividad" se ha convertido en algo que entiendo que también incluye los llamados materiales "muertos", como metal o arcilla o cualquier otra cosa con la que pueda colaborar, informando así a mi proceso y la forma de trabajar en general.

 

 

 

Como se mencionó anteriormente, en el pasado trabajé en muchas constelaciones de colaboración y también participé en algunos colectivos de artistas, entre algunos, Piscine (www.piscine.dk / @piscine_dk), que fundé en 2015 junto con el curador Michael Roloff. Inicialmente, Piscine comenzó como un espacio de exposición con sede en Aarhus, Dinamarca, en una mezcla de práctica artística y curatorial. Más tarde se convirtió en un colectivo nómada, que es lo que es hoy, trabajando artísticamente y curatorialmente. Dejé el grupo en 2017 cuando me mudé a Copenhague.

Más recientemente, formé parte de la apertura de un nuevo espacio de exposición CONCECTOR DE ARCWAY NIGHTLANDS Jennifee-See Alternate (www.arcway.dk / @arcwaynightlandsconnector), en Copenhague, Dinamarca. Abrimos el espacio hace casi un mes a fines de mayo, por lo que esto es muy nuevo y emocionante y aún no contiene una historia que contar, ya que nuestra intención es permitir que el espacio se desarrolle orgánicamente y por sí solo. Dándole la propia agencia, se podría decir. Simultáneamente a esto, formé parte de la reestructuración y manejo de un departamento de gestión de estudiantes (@forumcharlottenborg) en la Academia donde estudié hasta hace poco. Una especie de academia dentro de la academia, uno podría llamarlo. Algo con lo que todavía estoy comprometido y en el que estoy trabajando en el desarrollo.
